How do you receive what you bought on eBay?

Firstly, check the item listing to see what the seller says about accepting returns; some will accept returns for any reason, some will not. If you need to return the item because it is broken or "significantly not as described" and the seller refuses to help you, you can contact eBay and ask them to help you resolve the problem.

eBay has a return policy that the seller chooses when they sell an item. If the seller choose "no returns" or "no return policy" then you are not allowed to return the items. If the seller does specify a return policy, it will tell you how many days you have to return the item. Many buyers use a 3, 7 or 10 day return policy.

However, even if the seller says that they will not accept returns and you, as the buyer, feel that the item you received is "significantly not as described", you can raise a dispute against the seller through PayPal or open a case against them through eBay and in all likelihood you will ultimately be able to return the item to the seller for refund or replacement. You will, however, have to fund the cost of mailing the item back to the seller, by trackable means, yourself.

Generally, after you have paid for the item the seller will ship it and the shipping company will then deliver the package to you.

Some items are pick-up only, which is where you have to go to the person's house to collect the item. This is generally for things like book cases, sofas and other large items.
