In the 1950s, the cost of a wringer washer typically ranged from $100 to $200, depending on the brand and features. This price was significant at the time, as it represented a considerable investment for many households. The introduction of electric wringer washers offered greater convenience compared to manual washing methods, contributing to their popularity.
I just purchased one at auction for $5.00. Now I need a manual for it.

Try, or call, the local Sears in your area. I live in Central PA, and they still had wringer washers there last week. I was told when they were gone they wouldn't be getting more in, though, as the new wringer-less models were more energy efficient. (Posted 6/4/2011)
Ellen F. Eglin the inventor of the Wringer Washer machine does not have much recorded about her life, and there is no record of when she died.
