Alice and Wonderland Costumes?

Alice in Wonderland has been popular for more than 100 years. The blockbuster Alice movie with Johnny Depp has produced many interesting Alice and Wonderland costumes that are big favorites with children and adults alike. With so many choices, a group of kids or adults can recreate the entire whacky cast of characters. And, they don't have to wait for Halloween. A birthday party with a Madhatter Tea Party theme is a great way for children to enjoy them. Or have a costume party with an Alice theme and just see what Madhatters, queens and cards show up! Alice costumes range from little girl cute to sexy grown-up styles. Either way, a girl or woman will look gorgeous. Or should it be called "wonderland"ful? Johnny Depp's Madhatter made this character popular with both girls and boys. Men love to put on the crazy top hat and haphazard suit. Women like to see their men in the costume, but some are happy to wear it themselves. Although women may choose the men's version, there is also a women's version with a skirt to keep it feminine. The White Queen and the Red Queen from the blockbuster Alice are a popular choice. Their dramatic, comical gowns with or without the wigs are imagination run amok. These are adorable on girls and beautiful on women. All of these costumes come in a range of styles and sizes. There are sassy teen styles and tutu styles for young girls. Teen boy styles are whimsical and colorful with a flair all their own. Of course there are many more characters from Alice that are favorites. The Cheshire Cat, while it won't magically appear and disappear, earns a Cheshire cat style grin from it's wearers. It is extremely cute on children from infants to tweens. The Cards such as the Ace of Clubs is a great choice for adult parties but is fun for trick-or-treating as well. Tweedle Dum -- or is it Tweedle Dee -- is a hilarious costume that can go it alone or with a friend making a pair of Tweedles just like the book and movie.

Costume Parties Are In Style?

Costume parties are in style. Whether it's for Halloween, a movie premiere, or someone's birthday, adults are finding it fun to deck out in costumes. Of course, children and many teens are already into that style. Fortunately there are a ton of choices for children, teens and adults. It's popular to have a theme and invite the adults to pick something from a list. That helps narrow choices. Here are a few examples but there are many combinations. For children, a Disney-themed party is simple. There are just so many different characters: Buzz and Woody, the princesses, the princes, the crazy animals. Every kid loves to dress up when its from a favorite movie: Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo. The list goes on and on. Costumes today are available for most Disney characters. Finding them online is a good bet because the more unique you want, the harder it is to find (unless you go online!). Online you can find many different styles of the same character and certainly many different sizes. For teens, Disney may still work as well. One popular party for girls is a Madhatter Tea Party with Alice and all of her friends. For boys, a villains party is fun. It may be Disney villains or more sinister ones, depending on the age and wishes of the party host. Of course teens and adults alike, villains are popular as are Super Heroes. Women love become Catwoman or Wonder Woman. Men really get into being Batman, Superman, Ironman, Spiderman, the Green Hornet and more. An entire party full of Superheroes ensures that people will start the party talking and keep the party in full swing. Looking like Captain America just takes the edge off of social situations. Of course, it doesn't have to be limited to heroes or humans. It can include Transformers and other blockbuster movie characters with super powers. Get friends together and deck out as the cast of a movie. It makes great photos, generates conversation on Facebook, and unlocks inhibitions in social situations.

What are the most famous characters from Alice in Wonderland?

AliceAlice in Wonderland was first made up to entertain a little girl who Carroll was friends with, called Alice Liddell. Carroll has made her the star of the story and many things in the book refer to things in Alice's real life.Elsie, Lacie and TillieAt the Mad Tea Party, the Dormouse tells a story about three little girls who live in a treacle well. Their names, Elsie, Lacie and Tillie refer to Alice and her sisters; Elsie is LC, or Lorina Charlotte, Lacie is an anagram of Alice and Tillie is an abbreviation of Edith's nickname, Matilda. The Lory and the EagletThis is another reference to Alice's sisters. The Lory and the Eaglet, who Alice meets in the Pool of Tears, are Lorina and Edith Liddell. The DodoThe Dodo is Lewis Carroll himself. Carroll's real surname was Dodgson, but because he had a stammer he used to pronounce it do-do-dodgson.The DuckThe Duck is Carroll's friend Robinson Duckworth. He was also on the rowing trip where Carroll first told the story to Alice and her sisters.Several other curious creaturesAlong with Alice, the Lory, the Eaglet, the Duck and the Dodo, "several other curious creatures" swam to shore after getting soaked in the Pool of Tears. These refer to Carroll's sisters, Fanny and Elizabeth and his aunt Lucy Lutwidge, who had been on another rowing trip with Carroll and the Liddell girls. The HatterAlthough the Hatter may have simply been created because of the well known saying "as mad as a hatter" he might also have been based on a real person. From Martin Gardner's annotated Alice:There is good reason to believe that Tenniel adopted a suggestion of Carroll's that he draw the Hatter to resemble one Theophilus Carter, a furniture dealer near Oxford...Carter was known in the area as The Mad Hatter, partly because he always wore a top hat and partly because of his eccentric ideas.

You want to have a party for girls what kind of party should you have?

Coming up with a girl's party that everyone enjoys is not easy. Choosing the best party games for girls is the key ingredient to their success.Deciding on which party games to have fun with is dependant on several factors:whether boys are cominghow large the group iswhether the party has a themewhether the attendees want to play particular gamesWhen making the decision of whether boys are invited, it might be worth bearing in mind that girls are sometimes withdrawn when boys are present.Further, as girls typically mature more early than boys, they may have a preference for games which are calmer and less about running around and getting dirty! Naturally, this depends on which girls are attending, as many of them may prefer running around to sitting quietly, and whether the birthday girl, if it's a birthday party, wants boys to come!A good idea would be to ask the birthday girl, if it's a birthday party, what kinds of party games for girls she would like to be played and whether any of her friends like other sorts of games. That will certainly give you some great ideas.Smaller groups are more likely to already know each other, but for larger groups it may be necessary to incorporate some icebreaker party games during the course of the party to calm everyone down and give them an opportunity to get to know each other. Indoor party games are more suitable for smaller groups, whereas outdoor party games are better for large groups. Treasure hunt can be enjoyed inside and outside, as can hide and seek, and all of the usual party games.Where there is a theme to the party, it will impact what games should be enjoyed. There may be some additional games that spring to mind for a specific theme, e.g. 'the hidden teddy bear' for a teddy bear picnic theme or 'find the madhatter' for a tea party theme. However, irrespective of the theme, it's a great plan to involve the girls in deciding what games they want to be played and then getting them to figure out how the rules of the game can be changed to ensure the games match the theme of the party. At the end of the day, the success of the party games depends on whether the children interact with each other and have a great time. Involving the children in choosing the games will help ensure that anyone who is not enjoying herself has an opportunity to suggest a game they would like to play and therefore engage with.A top tip for ensuring the party runs to plan is to organize the games before the day of the party. Some of our favorite games have been where the attendees were notified in advance of the party, and been given a specific task like to bring food suitable to the theme, wear fancydress or create a character that they will act as during the course of the party. This is a great way of involving people and making them look forward to the party even before it arrives!
