What is better eBay or Amazon?

Ebay and Amazon work very differently. Amazon, overall is a better website. Although it sometimes has smaller variety, items don't have a time limit and there is a large supply of each item. Also, sometimes you'll find stuff you'd never find on Ebay in a billion years. It is less stessful to buy stuff and you can things first-hand.

Ebay is an auction website. Amazon is not. Both companies are huge. Both companies have their specialties and finer points. Amazon usually institutes at least a two week hold for your money, so if you need the money fast, Amazon may not be the way to go.

With eBay, you pretty much need to take a picture of each item that you sell, upload it to the computer, and provide a brief narrative. Unlike Amazon, there is a fee for listing each item on eBay, whether it sells or not. There is also the commission that eBay takes from each sale, which is based on the cost of the item. Finally, there is the percentage that PayPal takes as well.

Amazon is better suited for items that are closer to "brand new" condition than eBay. The customer base of Amazon is more prone to buying brand new items there, rather than poring through multiple listings and willing to pay for "used" items as in eBay.
