In the Boy Scouts of America, hunting is not an authorized activity for Cub Scouting or Boy Scouting. Venturers- who are ages 13 to 21 -may go hunting.

Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program.

The United States has a large number of Cub Scouts due to the popularity of the scouting program in the country. Cub Scouts are part of the Boy Scouts of America organization.
