Boy Scout or Scout Troops are members of the national organization, Boy Scouts of America. Each national organization determines the kind of program the troops will use based on guidelines from the international organization. Both organizations earn badges and other awards, however, the awards and the requirements are different. The uniforms are different as determined by the national organization. The way the troops themselves are organized is different.

Venturing is a coed older program of the Boy Scouts of America. While it officially started in 1998, it split of from Exploring, keeping the traditional Scouting areas of Outdoors, Sea Scouts, Hobbies, Sports, and Religious in Venturing.
