Absolutely not!! A monetary payment for acts of abuse or racism neither "make-up for" nor excuse such behavior but at times it is the only viable way to exact some sort of compensation and justice for a wrong that has been done.

AnswerI believe that it makes those experiencing racism to have a very strong dislike for those in power. It also causes them to not trust anyone of that race.AnswerThe answer will vary widely based on the individual personality and background of the person who is subjected to racism, and the circumstances in which it's demonstrated. I can only answer for the people that I know in the US where racism is a continual undercurrent throughout many peoples' lives but not too many egregious examples exist in today's society. How it affects people in other places and in other times, I can't speak to.Most people that I'm familiar with who are subject to racism, are accustomed to this being a part of the society in which they live. They experience it very early in life and ongoing throughout their lives to one degree or another. It predominantly affects how they view others and what is said by others. Most evaluate what they see and hear, filtered through their own experience and whatever coping skills they may have learned from their upbringing; in other words, they consider the source. They also notice it when it may not be obvious to others who haven't experienced racism. Unless it is outright offensive or infringing on their rights in some way, they move right past it knowing that there's no payoff to dwelling on it. If it is offensive, most will confront it as an average person treats any behavior that's offensive. If it infringes on their rights, they may speak up (such as in a business setting), they may seek out the appropriate channels to address it or correct it, or they may just walk away. Some people experience more blatant racism than others. Some are affected more personally than others. There are even some who use it as an excuse for their own failures or shortcomings; and those who use it as a weapon to derive a benefit or gain. How racism affects those who are subject to it depends on the individual and the circumstances. There are many other types of experiences with racism in other places in the world. There are people who come to the US from places that they have experienced greater racism than they find here and there are people who come from places where they've never experienced it until they come to the US. All of these people are affected in their own way.
Children living on the street are often in poverty due to factors such as family instability, lack of access to education and healthcare, and limited economic opportunities. These children may be forced to leave home in search of better living conditions, but end up on the streets where they are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. Poverty exacerbates their situation by limiting their ability to meet basic needs and access support services.
Child abuse (verbal to physical and not sexual) can occur if one or both parents have been brought up in an environment of abusive behavior. It has always been believed that all women (of any age) love children, but this is not true and some wish not to have children for reasons of their own. Doctors discovered a few years ago that women who have given birth may suffer from 'postpartum blues' which is a hormonal imbalance and can cause the mother to become depressed where she may ignore her baby or possibly, in a small percentage of cases harm the baby. Every woman is an individual and while some mothers have the patience of a Saint with their child or children some women can become abusive if they cannot control a baby from constantly crying to a small child that is active and into everything. Sexual abuse by mainly the father (but a small number of mothers have sexually abused their sons) this can often generate down from the environment in which they grew up. Often sexual abuse with a male or female parent goes unnoticed for years and there is no test a doctor can give to tell if a parent may or may not become sexually abusive to their child.

Just tell them that you are very sorry about it. If they are still mad that is there problem maybe they should have a sense of humor? Or you could ask them what you can do to make up for it. Of course, you could, if you wanted, attend some workshops on racism or join an organization tackling racism.
