Yes they can. It purely depends on them. If they procure Punya(good fortune) and perform Dharma or Dhana(helping deserving poors) they will take birth as Brahmins in their next kalpa.
Jai Sri Ram!
There is no hierarchy in castes; all individuals are considered equal. Caste discrimination is illegal in India. Each person should be treated with respect, regardless of their caste.
The Untouchables, now referred to as Dalits, faced severe discrimination and social ostracism in the Indian caste system. They were considered impure and relegated to performing menial and degrading tasks. They were denied access to education, employment opportunities, and basic human rights.
In many societies, caste is determined by birth and it is not possible for an individual to move to a higher caste. Caste systems are deeply ingrained in social structures and hierarchy, making it difficult for individuals to change their caste status. Efforts to promote equality and social mobility through education and government policies may help to address issues related to caste discrimination.
In terms of social status, traditionally Jatav is considered a higher caste compared to Kori. Jatavs are classified as a Scheduled Caste, while Koris are classified as an Other Backward Class (OBC) in some regions of India.
No. Untouchables were actually below the Shudras in the ancient Caste system and were ostracized from society. This horrendous practice is clearly outlawed in India today. In fact a Dalit (Untouchable), Dr. Ambedkar framed India's Constituition at the time of Indian independance.
Men can not marry up but rarely women can marry a caste above them and in turn be reborn higher up, Shudra or the Dalit (the untouchables) can not marry up on any terms
The SHUDRAS or the HARIJANS or the DALITS were the untouchables in the Aryans caste system.
Untouchables
He can not. Once they are born into a caste, they are stuck there. If some one from a higher caste chooses to marry some one from a low caste, then he moves down, instead of his spouse moving up.
