Its very simple, actually. Each and every person on this planet has been through obsticals that have taught them things that they can now apply to everyday life. For example, me and my neighbor were having small talk, and whule refering to my step father, he would call him my dad, while I call him by his name. He says to me, "Why don't you call him dad?" and my reply was "Because his is not my dad, he is my step dad." So he told me the difference between a dad and a father: your father is the one who put you on this earth, but your dad is the one who rasied you. He shined some light on somthing that I have never realized, and it made me think of things differently.

Tobe knew of the story of Ed Gein and incorporated his idea of using a chainsaw to create the Leatherface character. If there ever was any "chainsaw massacre" of any kind, anywhere, it is totally unrelated, completely coincidental and had no bearing or impact on Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel's creative process during the production of their 1974 film.The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a HUGE urban legend known by many people around the world.
