A person's environment can influence the way people act.
A person's environment includes people around them, pollution (noise, smoke) etc.
Say if a child was being bullied in school then they would become more withdrawn in this environment, they may still be acting the same in other environments or they may become more withdrawn all together. Also it is likely that they would begin to dread being in school because they are being bullied.
A more simple example would be: if someone was out at a cafe and a person at the table next to them starts to smoke, they may get up and move, where as they wouldn't other wise.

The goals of sociology are to understand human behavior, social interactions, and social structures within society. Sociology seeks to explain why people act the way they do and how social forces influence individuals and groups. It also aims to create a more equitable and just society by challenging social inequalities and promoting social change.
Social Interaction.
Society trains people to act in certain ways. For example, people are conditioned to wear clothing when they appear in public, to eat their spaghetti with a fork rather than with their fingers, and so forth.
Social control is the enforcement of norms or shared rules of conduct that tell people how to act in specific situations. It involves mechanisms such as laws, sanctions, and informal social pressures to ensure conformity to societal expectations.
According to behaviorism, the main influence on how people act is their environment. Behaviorists believe that behavior is learned through conditioning, with external factors such as rewards, punishments, and stimuli shaping our actions. Personal thoughts and feelings are considered irrelevant in behaviorism.
