* Efficiency- more efficient use of land, less land use per person and housing is more efficiently used to house more people. * Concentration of resources-people come up with more ideas and resources are readily available. A larger variety of resources are found in urban areas. * Public transportation is easily found, cutting down the need for private transportation-which in turn cuts down on pollution

* Economy- jobs are more easily found than in rural areas With Urbanization, there is also disadvantages as well. Here we find problems that are not as common as in rural areas. * Areas where populations of extremely poor live in sub-standard conditions:

Poor Living conditions

High rates of Unemployment

High rates of Crime

Accelerated Population Growth -due to lack of education, family

planning (lack of education of family planning as well as tradition

of those coming from rural areas)

* Air pollution due to heavy vehicle traffic * Water pollution * Destruction of Natural Habitats * Urbanization spreads outwards thus chances of destroying more natural habitats.
