Roughly 3 million. Most people who live in Galicia speak it (alongside Spanish), and people who emigrate from Galicia. Despite massive emigration from Galicia to the Americas during the Spanish colonial years and even into the 20th century, there are no significant numbers of Galician speakers in that part of the world because the immigrants found themselves so diluted amongst non-Galician Spanish monolinguals (or Portuguese, English, etc.) that they stopped using Galician after a generation or two (which is pretty much what happens to all immigrant families).
