NWU is a small school in Lincoln, Nebraska that allows and encourages students to get involved and provides many fantastic experiences for their students. All the professor's have the highest degree in their field they teach, and only the professor teaches the class; never a teachers aid. I was told they are the "Harvard of the Midwest." I am not sure of the validity of that statement, however, I can tell you it is a highly respected school academic wise. I would say they are one of the best schools in Nebraska if not the best. To answer your question in short: yes a fantastic school.

Lincoln, Nebraska does not get tornadoes every year. Since official records began in 1950 there have been 5 recorded tornadoes in Lincoln, Nebraska in total.
It used to be Omaha, which at the time was relatively small, so the Nebraska Government considered moving it closer to the population center of the State, and eventually decided to move it to the small village of Lancaster in 1867. Omaha businessmen and politicians tried to derail this by having the village renamed "Lincoln", after the recently assassinated President (Nebraska had been home to many Confederate sympathisers). The move did not work, as the settlement was renamed Lincoln and the government moved to it.
