Around 33 million people speak Burmese as their first language in Myanmar. Additionally, there are communities of Burmese speakers in neighboring countries such as Thailand, India, and Bangladesh.

But by assuming that after 1989 many Bulgarians immigrated to US and Canada and from the historical fact that many of the offsprings of once greater Bulbaria now live in many countries like Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Moldavia, Macedonia. And new economic immigrants (guest workers mainly) to European Union countries like Spain, Italy, UK, Greece, Czech Republic and elsewhere The answer is between 1 million to 1.5 million overseas Bulgarian speak Bulgarian. NB! A limited number of foreign nationals either studied, worked or lived in Bulgaria also speak Bulgarian language!
