what did darwin mean when he said survival of the fittest.
This is an example of guilt by association fallacy, where someone assumes that because Tracy is part of the same sorority as girls mentioned to be mean by the friend, Tracy must also be mean. It is an unfair generalization based on limited information.
Not necessarily. Anticipating the worst can be a way for safe drivers to stay prepared and make proactive decisions on the road. It doesn't necessarily mean they are pessimistic; rather, they may be cautious and focused on minimizing risk.
Mario Andretti, a retired racing driver, is attributed to have said "The greatest surprise in a man's life is old age."
Durkheim meant that when we love society, we are appreciating something larger than ourselves, the collective whole of all individuals. He believed that society shapes who we are and is reflected in us as individuals, so by loving society, we are also loving that part of ourselves that is influenced by and connected to the wider community.
Social Darwinism is in practice a political theory. It opposes welfare and generally favours lassez faire. It sees the main role of government as the defence of property and the provision of a legal system. However, there were many varieties of Social Darwinism with differing emphases and views. It is less monolithic than is often thought.
Darwin said that only the fittest will survive and these then pass their "fit" genes on.
Darwin
darwin This was in his work 'The Descent of Man.'
Darwin read the book Lamarck wrote and said that he did not get one idea from it as it was ludicrous in content. So, Lamarck would be the one scientist that did not influence Darwin according to Darwin.
Darwin said that organisms evolve through the process of natural selection.
He was at a meeting in his home country and he was explaining his laws of heredity when someone mentioned that this was contra-Darwin. Mendel stood his ground and said Darwin was wrong here. Darwin had a mechanism of heredity that was pure speculation ( and he admitted that ) and very wrong. Mendel, mathematically and experimentally showed the laws of inheritance and showed it was particulate and not a blending of the traits.
Charles Darwin is hated only by religious idiots fundamentalists.
No. Charles Darwin was a scientist, what he had to say challenged religious certainties but nothing he said was in any way meant to be religious.
Charles Darwin :)
If you're asking did Darwin have a "death bed" conversion, then the answer is no. The story originated from Lady Hope who claimed he had such a conversion. Darwin's daughter, who was present at Darwin's death, said that not only was Lady Hope not present, she didn't think that Darwin had ever met Lady Hope.
Charles Darwin founded the evolutionary theory, and wrote six books on it, but in the fifth and sixth, said that his logic was wrong, and only after he retired did he regain his sanity, as writing caused him to lose it.
By Herbert Spenser's misunderstanding of the theory and his thinking that the theory had something to say about human institutions. Darwin wanted nothing to do with this and said as much.
