ANSWER: The prophecy "And men will seek death, but death will flee" is about a difficult time in the end of the world, just before the second coming of Christ. It says that some or all people will want to commit suicide, but won't be permitted to. Basically, turn into zombies

There will be a time when things will be so bad during the tribulation, that people will want to die but cannot. What a terrible thing. Hope it makes people think about where they are spiritually before it is too late. It is just around the corner. Jesus is coming soon. Hebrews 9:27 tells us:"It is given unto man once to die and then the judgement." We only have this life to make the right choice to be close to God. Answer: John must have struggled mightily for the descriptive words to explain what he was envisioning in Revelation chapter 9, where this passage is found. He didn't have the advantage we do to have grown up with our modern technology. John refers to "locusts" emerging out of smoke. How could he have imagined man inventing the modern attack helicopter that has the amazing resemblance to an insect?

How many times have we seen these "locusts" emerging from the billowing smoke of smoldering ruins below in movies and actual documentary footage? If you read this chapter from the New International Version of the Bible, the wording may lend some small clarity to the question's answer. As stated, this is the time of the Great Tribulation.

All the nations are angry and scared. All the ones who can, have nuclear weapons... some more willing to use them than others... but desperate times call for desperate measures. This is also the time when the Two Witnesses, for 3 1/2 years, are witnessing to the world in Jerusalem (Rev.11), like Moses and Aaron went before Pharaoh, going daily before the False Prophet ensconced there claiming to be God. As chapter 9 starts... John sees: "...a 'star' that had fallen to earth. A "star" is Bible symbolism for an "angel" (Rev.1:20). It can be easily thought to mean John saw the star falling... right then... at that moment. But the NIV says the star HAD FALLEN. That is... in the past. What star (angel) fell to earth in the past? Satan the Devil. "...I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven..." (Luke 10:18). Satan's time is short, and his wrath is being vented. This "fallen star": "...was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss (the Bottomless Pit, where unfathomable depths of evil reside). The "star" opens the pit of unfathomable evil, and: "...smoke rose from it like the smoke from a GIGANTIC FURNACE. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss." (Rev.9:2) What was John describing? Was it the unleashing of nuclear weapons on the earth? Back when Chernobyl leaked its radiation into the atmosphere, it traveled up over Canada and descended on North America... and for a number of weeks there were no bright sunny days, but, a constant dull filtered haze hovered over the land. These people John is trying to describe, following the release of "the smoke" from Satan's pit of fathomless evil; did he see people suffering from radiation sickness? "...to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them." (Rev.9:5-6 NIV)

The verse you quoted is from Revelation 9.6 which occurs during the 5 month reign of the fake Jesus (Satan playing the role of Christ returned) and his army of super preachers and prophets. One learns in Revelation 9:5 that the time frame for the Anti-Christ to reign on this earth is 5 months, and no there is not a Rapture (1st Corinthians 15.51-55 makes a Rapture quite impossible). Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 identify a one wold order with a one world government that has 7 heads and 10 horns with 10 crowns. Revelation 17 defines these heads, horns and crowns Have you ever heard the term heads of state? Most likely the current trend toward global Marxism will be what causes the 7 heads to occur. Daniel 7 is distinct about how they actually occur and their count.

Back to your question, once we get to the point of no return Daniel 7 and the 4 winds of destruction are blowing, there will be no turning back. This army of Satan (Locust Army) will not be what you expect. They will not be the walking dead or some TV garbage such as that. They will be the greatest deceivers on the face of the earth, just as Christ warned in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Before them is lush green grass of the truth of our Fathers word and behind them everything is stripped clean bare. They are good at what they do. They are described as scorpions. If you study the scorpion, they have no stomach, they regurgitate their digestive juices onto their victim which turns their back bone to mush (you get the idea). They will do the same to all people who have not the seal of God in the foreheads (in their brain, to know the truth of his word). They can not kill the victims but they torment them for 5 months. Get out of line and they have the authority to straighten you out. People will seek death and shall not find it.

Think about it for a minute, Here are these super preachers and someone claiming to be Christ who can work miracles, what will people do who's lives have been lived following the doctrines of men, especially philosopha doctrine.

There will be a major paradigm shift occurring, there will be those who have knowledge (sealed with our Fathers word) who will stand with the two witnesses in Jerusalem against the Fake Jesus. Those two witnesses who will have power to do many things (Revelation 11) they are most likely Elijah and Moses. They will take action against those who come against them .... Great tribulation and who is the correct one? who will I believe? Imagine the confusion... Imagine the angst... Imagine the fear.

The one world global system of Anti-Christ will require one to worship him or they will have no job, no money, no food etc. (doesn't sound very christian eh?). Imagine how Christ will feel to return and find his people worshiping Satan because they are too lazy or busy or just didn't care to learn what he had written for them. They chose instead to believe the precepts of men, especially philosopha doctrine.

1st Corinthians 15 about verse 51 through 55, always remember that verse, for if you can pinch flesh, you are not looking at the real Jesus Christ, you are looking at a fake For at the 7th trumpet, when the feet of the real Jesus Christ touch down on the mount of olives, all flesh is destroyed.
