Religion plays a significant role in shaping culture by influencing beliefs, values, rituals, and traditions. It often provides a moral framework for behavior, guides social interactions, and can serve as a unifying force within a community. Religion can also impact laws, institutions, art, and literature, contributing to the overall identity of a culture.

The religion of a culture decides how moral people are, which, in turn, decides if the leaders make honest decisions. It also changes how society thinks: if the majority of people in a culture believes in a certain religion, then they all think about the same god (gods). The entire Greek culture was based off their gods. If you read scripts from those days, you will find that NOTHING was done without the people believing that the gods were doing it. Hence, alot of stuff that was said to be done by the gods (such as sickness) was never studied out properly because all the people believed that you couldn't change the gods' minds. Hope that helped at all:) There's alot more, but it would take way too long to type:D

  • Culture comes from religion and religion comes from culture.
  • For most cultures, religion was originally brought about as a way to explain different phenomenon that they didn't have the ability to accurately explain, such as the origin of the earth. It has since transformed to be a way for people to share in community with each other and express what they believe about their interpretations of a higher being.
  • A religion usually shapes the laws and morals of a culture, and give it something to work with and for, something to rally around.
