∙ 10y agoThe percentage of all existing marriages that are between persons of the same sex is extremely low, perhaps lower than 1%. This is due to the fact that same-sex marriage is only available in some jurisdictions and even then only for a relatively short time. Also, gays and lesbians only make up around 3% to 6% of the population, and even then most gays and lesbians are not married.
