Edwardian social values were characterized by a strict adherence to etiquette, refinement, and propriety. Social stratification was pronounced, with a strong emphasis placed on social class and hierarchy. Respectability, duty, and decorum were prized virtues, and wealth and status were seen as markers of success and respectability in society.
Social values are the beliefs and principles that are important to a society, guiding people on what is right and wrong. Social norms, on the other hand, are the unwritten rules and expectations that dictate behavior within a particular group or society. Social values shape the attitudes and beliefs of individuals, while social norms regulate behavior and interactions within a social group.
Socialization is the term that describes the process by which people learn acceptable social behaviors and values. It involves acquiring social norms, customs, beliefs, and values that allow individuals to function effectively in society.
Social work as a profession is not inherently driven by Christian values, though some individual social workers may be motivated by their personal Christian beliefs to help others. Social work as a field is guided by principles of social justice, human rights, and non-discrimination, which can overlap with some Christian values but are not exclusive to any particular religion.
Social values are beliefs held by a society about what is important and desirable. For example, honesty, equality, and respect for others are common social values. These values guide behaviors and interactions within a society and help shape its culture.
Life values are principles and beliefs that guide an individual's behavior and decision-making, encompassing personal priorities, morals, and ethics. Work values are beliefs about the qualities and standards that one deems important in a work environment, such as professionalism, teamwork, and integrity. Social values refer to shared beliefs within a society regarding what is deemed important, desirable, and acceptable in terms of social behavior, norms, and cultural practices.
The Edwardian era followed the Victorian era and it was during the rule of King Edward Vii. He ruled between 1901-1910. The Titanic movie can help provide an understanding of the social classes and the way people dressed back then.
yes it was. WW1 obviously had a great impact on the world, particularly Europe. Just how different the ideals & values were in the 1920s to before WW1 I think is difficult to quantify. Certainly the Great War brought the Edwardian era to an end but what effect it had on ideals & values, it cannot be viewed dispassionately. I cannot see the connection. No, WW1 marks a change in History, but the values of the Edwardian age will change over time, despite the war. Ideals & Values will change in time irrespective of the impact of what happens during that time. Yes, WW1 happened at that time, but the change will have occurred in the process of the passing of time anyway. History, time, will progress irrespective of the events, obviously the events have an effect, but it wasn't the war that changed the Edwardian ideals & values but the progress of time itself. What ever has happened today has had an effect, but tomorrow will inevitably be different to yesterday: It's called progress.
