You are stereotyping Arabs. I am an Arab and my father have never even spoke in a bad way to my mother . Not all Arabs are like that , most of them are educated and well-mannered , but the fact that the governments are not strict about domestic violence opens the way for many abusers to hit their women since there are no consequences.

It is essential to avoid making generalizations about a particular group of people. In any relationship, issues can arise due to a variety of reasons unrelated to cultural background. Communication and mutual respect are crucial for a healthy partnership, regardless of cultural differences.

Arab men treat women just like all men treat women - some good some bad. Just like all women treat men - some good some bad. People follow the same patterns all over the world.

______________
However, there are some marked differences depending on local custom. Some Arab cultures are modern and liberal and have given up all or most practices that might seem wrong or inappropriate to the typical westerner. There are other cultures that hold to much more conservative and traditional beliefs and practices regarding the treatment of women, and some of those practices regarding the treatment of women would never be allowed in typical western cultures.

How were Arabs and Muslims affected by September 11 locally?

There was an uptick in Anti-Muslim and Anti-Arab hate crimes in the subsequent few months before they died down to, roughly, pre-9-11 levels. Probably more important was the new negative attention that Arabs and Muslims received.

What right is denied to Israel's Arabs?

Issue of RightsTo the knowledge of this contributor, and of his brother, a former US government official now retired in Israel, and of his son-in-law, a native Israeli working as a professional engineer in the south of Israel, there are no citizenship "rights" that are denied to Arabs as compared to Jews.Particular Issues that Israeli Arabs Face-- There are some benefits that people receive following military service that are not extended to Arabs because they're excused from military service. In order to make up for this discrepancy there is a voluntary "National Service" program for Arabs. Most of the jobs are in their own communities. After completing this service, they get many benefits similar to veterans of military service.-- There are allegations that permits to build houses take longer for Arabs, especially in Jerusalem.-- It's also difficult for Arab towns to get permission to expand beyond their present borders, resulting in overcrowding. (Note: Overcrowding in Arab towns is the result of Israeli-Arab families choosing to grow and/or more Arabs moving into Arab towns in Israel.)-- Expenditures on public schools in Arab towns may be lower than majority-Jewish public schools elsewhere ... which may be justified since tax revenues from Arab towns are much lower. These may be examples of prejudice within the bureaucracy, since there are no formal limitations under the law.Benefits that Arabs have in IsraelHaving now directly responded to the negative fishing expedition in the question, it's appropriate to take the opportunity to mention a few additional facts that point up the allegedly sad lot of the Arabs in Israel:-- The percentage of Arab students in Israeli institutions of higher education is now roughly the same as the percentage of Arabs in the general population.-- There are large numbers of Arab doctors and nurses who treat both Arab and Jewish patients throughout the Israeli hospital system.-- The court that found former President Moshe Katzav guilty of wrongdoing and handed down a prison sentence was headed by a Christian Arab from Jaffa. The other two members of the court were women. Readers are invited to log in and list other countries in the region where criminal charges might be brought against a former president without a revolution, or where a court might include women, and Jews, and be headed by a Christian Arab, or by a Christian, or by an ethnic minority not in control of the government.

What caused Israelis and Arabs to become enemies?

The existence of Israel is antithetical to most Arabs who still consider that region to be Palestine and to be stolen from its native inhabitants. Therefore, anyone loyal to that state (i.e. Israelis) are seen violent usurpers who need to be put down. On the flip side, Israelis see the Arab request that they completely surrender to an Arab Authority ridiculous because they argue that they have a Right to a State and will actively stop anybody who demands their flight or capitulation.

Why are Arabs so rich?

Arabs are rich because of the large natural gas and oil deposits in their countries and the competition between countries across the globe to gain access. However this is a major misconception about Arabs. The reality is not all Arabs are rich and the rich ones are in fact the rulers such as the Kings and Emirs of the Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf and Arab-African states like Libya. As all the oil revenue goes through the various royal family members and trickles down to the rest of the population. For example Egypt is the most populous Arab country. Yet this country's population is mainly poor and dependent on bread lines to get their daily rations of subsidized bread. Egypt's oil ran dry a while back and the their natural gas deposits is running low. In contrast the sparsely populated oil rich Gulf States excluding the larger populations of Iraq and Saudi Arabia are immensely wealthy as a result of the tiny local population and the massive wealth made off of their massive oil and natural gas reserves.

How did Hitler and the Nazis really think of the Arabs and Islam?

They looked to Arabs as second class citizens and they were biased against Islam and Muslims. However, the relationship between the Nazi movement and leadership and the Arab world encompassed contempt, propaganda, collaboration and in some instances emulation. Cooperative relationships were founded on shared hostilities toward common enemies, such as British and French imperialism, colonialism, and Zionism. Hitler said that the conquering Arabs, because of their racial inferiority, would in the long run have been unable to contend with the harsher climate of the country. They could not have kept down the more vigorous natives, so that ultimately not Arabs but Islamized Germans could have stood at the head of this Mohammedan Empire.
