Patriotism matters, because without people being loyal to their country, corruption will fall to all. Without them loving and respecting their country, the land will fall waste to attacks, both through foreign affairs and civil wars. People need to be loyal to where they live, and be thankful that they can live through the help of their government and get help when they need it.

Patriotism does still matter if it didn't we would still have the draft and all of the young men and women who are fighting today would be forced to do so, or running away to Canada! Patriotism is simply being proud of your Country and showing it! Please don't use any of these comments in your essay as I am not helping my son his teacher is, but the comments you were receiving weren't very correct!
