I used to always hear it was about 10%
but I just found this:
February 2007: Researchers at Harvard University Medical School have new data that suggests that up to 25 percent of adults with eating disorders are male.
It is estimated that around 90-95% of individuals with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa are women. However, men also experience eating disorders, with an estimated 5-10% of cases occurring in males.
90-95%, for the first time in history, men are smarter than women for something!
The city in the US with the highest percentage of women is Washington, D.C. According to recent data, women make up around 52% of the population in the nation's capital.
As of March 2021, women and minorities collectively make up about one-third (around 33%) of franchise business owners in the US. This percentage has been gradually increasing in recent years as more diverse entrepreneurs are entering the franchising sector.
There is no specific percentage available for the prevalence of a lying disorder, as it can vary depending on different factors and individual cases. Lying disorders are not officially recognized in diagnostic manuals like the DSM-5, but pathological lying can be a symptom of other mental health conditions such as factitious disorder or antisocial personality disorder.

There is no way to prevent an Eating Disorder. It is often in a person's chemical make-up to have an Eating Disorder. There are many things that you can do to help prevent Eating Disorders, but there is nothing that can absolutely prevent it.
Aside from the sufferer, eating disorders can affect family and friends, who struggle to understand the causes and symptoms they are suffering. Eating disorders can make a person very stressed and angry, therefore this can put a huge strain on their relationships with the people around them.
Counseling and support groups are the most effective way to help a loved one with an eating disorder. Most eating disorders stem from a self esteem issue, so counseling, and making sure that anyone around them is a positive influence will help.

Not eating much is a key sign of anorexia, and bulimia is often exhibited by throwing up or tyring to make oneself sick after eating. Such negative thoughts can result in eating disorders. The best thing to do it to go to a doctors and they can make an official decision.

Yes, that is the actual reason behind eating disorders. The people who do these things feel that they are not good enough for everyone else and this is one way to make them (think) they are becoming perfect. Another reason eating disorders come around is feeling a need for control. If they feel that someone else is trying to manipulate their life for them, then this gives them the illusion that they are fixing the problem.
