Who are the gebalites today?
The Gebalites, historically known as inhabitants of the ancient city of Byblos in present-day Lebanon, are often associated with the Phoenicians. Today, the descendants of these ancient people are primarily represented by the modern Lebanese population, particularly those living in the region of Byblos and its surroundings. While the Gebalites as a distinct group no longer exist, their cultural and historical legacy continues to influence Lebanese identity and heritage.
