In order to stretch a carpet a person must first detach the carpet and then let it soak for quite some time in hot water then simply stretch it out by nailing it to the wood.
A carpet tack is a small nail-like object used to secure carpet to the floor. It is used in carpet installation to hold the carpet in place and prevent it from shifting or moving. The carpet tack is hammered into the floor along the edges of the carpet, allowing the carpet to be stretched and secured tightly in place.

This is debatable, so you may receive varying answers. Depending on the method used to clean the carpet (IE: steam cleaning vs. dry foam cleaning, etc) it is my belief you should have the carpet cleaned, then stretched. Stretching the carpet before a cleaning may have some expensive consequences. Carpet can shrink, expand, or warp during cleaning...which would make prestretching pointless. Additionally, depending on the age and condition of the carpet, prestretching before a cleaning may possibly result in the carpet itself being pulled away from the corners and walls after it has been cleaned. In this case, it would need to be stretched again. Point being; stretch after cleaning.

A carpet tack strip is used to hold the edges of a carpet in place along the perimeter of a room. It has sharp tacks that grip the carpet backing, securing it in position. During installation, the tack strip is nailed to the floor around the room's edges, and the carpet is stretched and tucked into the strip to create a smooth and tight fit.
Rolls are generally worse when it is humid. Regardless, rolls in the carpet mean it needs to be stretched. You can rent a carpet kicker, but a pro would be best. They should be using a power stretcher. More often then not when a carpet gets wrinkles or rolls it was because it was not power stretched when installed. Another possibility is heavy furniture was dragged across. Make sure when the carpet is stretched it is first pulled back to make sure the pad is not bunched up as well.
Carpet is installed in a room by first preparing the subfloor, then laying down a carpet pad for cushioning. The carpet is then stretched and secured to the edges of the room using tack strips. Finally, the carpet is trimmed to fit the room and seams are sealed if necessary.
The carpet needs to be stretched back onto tackboard. You can rent one at a home improvement store or hire a pro.

To effectively use a carpet stretcher to properly stretch and install your carpet, start by positioning the stretcher at one end of the room and hooking it onto the carpet. Then, use the lever to stretch the carpet towards the opposite wall, making sure it is taut and smooth. Repeat this process along the length of the room, adjusting as needed to ensure the carpet is evenly stretched and securely installed.
To staple down carpet, first ensure the subfloor is clean and dry. Begin at one corner, rolling out the carpet and stretching it snugly across the area. Use a carpet stapler to secure the carpet by placing staples about 6 to 12 inches apart along the edges and seams, ensuring the carpet is taut but not overly stretched. Finally, trim any excess carpet and tuck it into corners for a neat finish.
