To remove the footrest on a wheelchair, first locate the release mechanism, which may be a lever, button, or a pin on the side of the footrest assembly. Press or pull the mechanism to unlock the footrest. Once released, gently lift the footrest upwards and away from the wheelchair frame. Repeat the process for the other footrest if necessary.

To remove the driver's footrest in an MR2 SW20, start by unscrewing the screws that secure the footrest to the chassis, typically found at the top and bottom edges. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the footrest away from the mounting area. If it’s stubborn, check for any clips or additional fasteners that may be holding it in place. After removing it, inspect the area for any debris or damage before installing a new footrest if necessary.
One that is firm and will allow the feet to comfortably rest flat on the footrest. And that will fit with my chair height and allow my arms to be in the correct position.
