Well, the impact Cleopatra had on modern society is the fact that Elizabeth Taylor;the most beautiful woman in the world at that time wore more outfits than any actress in any movie. The death scene follows theory that she commited suicide by getting bit by an snake. The real Cleopatra did influence Rome at the time she was supposedly seducing the leaders of the Roman Empire. She really didn't do all that much, certainly not as much as was alluded to in the taylor/burtin movie.

Cleopatra was 18 years old when she became queen for the first time. She was 22 years old when she became the permanent ruler.

Cleopatra worked in Egypt. She was the queen.

Cleopatra "married" Marc Antony in 37 BC. However some scholars think this was a symbolic "marriage" cementing their political alliance. Antony probably thought so too, considering he knew that a marriage between a Roman and a foreigner was not recognized and the fact that he was already married to a Roman wife, Octavia, who was Octavian's sister. He never even divorced Octavia until at least five years after his "marriage" to Cleopatra.

The only time that Cleopatra went to war was in 31 BC at Actium. She lost, big time.

After Cleopatra, Egypt became an imperial province of Rome. This meant that the emperor and not the senate had control over Egypt.

Since you can't type in hieroglyphics on a computer (at least not mine), I would suggest that you type "Cleopatra/cartouche" into your web browser. You'll come up with several sites showing good pictures of Cleopatra's cartouche. A cartouche was a person's signature box. All the hieroglyphics of his/her name are in there.

Actually Cleopatra had very few achievements as a ruler. If it were not for her involvement in Roman politics, she would have faded into history as just another nondescript Egyptian ruler. The one big thing she did achieve was additional territories under her control due to her alliance with Marc Antony.

She was pharaoh/queen. She made desicions, passed laws, and ruled over Ancient Egypt. She was very important.

Cleopatra's son Caesarion was her co-ruler. He did not stay a baby for long, and on the temple at Dendera he is shown as a grown man, taller than his mother. He was ultimately betrayed and killed by Octavian.

Cleopatra was the last Greek Pharaoh, and she was the only one who knew how to speak Egyptian language.

Cleopatra ruled from 51 B.C to 30 B.C..so from age 18 to age 39 or 40..and she killed herself with a snake (asp snake or Egyptian Cobra if you preffer) to the chest because Augustus Ceasar, (or Octavian) was about to capture her and her lover Marc Antony after the "Civil war" in 31 B.C. We will probably never know exactly why, but it could be because Marc Antony had stabbed himself with a sword, by throwing himself on it, and died in her arms. They both are buried together supposedly in Tabusirius Magna. She was born 69 B.C.A. and died 30 B.C.A.

Cleopatra became pharaoh or queen as her father's co-ruler shortly before he died. In his will, her father made her co-ruler along with her brother Ptolemy XIII.

She is known for seducing Ceasar and Mark Anthony.

Cleopatra had a great impact on the world of her time. She was the catalyst that caused the final civil war which brought Octavian to power and the change in the Roman government.

The Nile river runs the entire ength of Egypt. Calling Cleopatra "queen of the Nile" is just another term for calling her queen of Egypt.
