A "scrooge" is a nickname for somebody who is a "party pooper" during Christmas time, or basically, somebody who looks at Christmas as a time for frivolous money spending and snooty kids, and doesn't enjoy any aspect of it.

So:

"Don't be such a scrooge. Christmastime is supposed to be about your friends and family, not your bank account."

Fred loved Christmas and from his conversations with Scrooge it was clear he understood the true meaning

In Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol, Belle and Scrooge were engaged as a young couple. Later Belle breaks off their engagement because she feels Scrooge's growing greed is changing him. When the ghost of Christmas Past reveals Belle to Scrooge and a grown woman with a family he realizes what he has lost.

Cratchit toasts to Mr. Scrooge with gratitude for the raise he has given him. The family is surprised by this gesture but ultimately responds with understanding and gratitude towards Cratchit for his positive outlook.

"Wha cur" is an old Scottish phrase that means "what care," or basically "what does it matter" or "why bother." It is used to express indifference or lack of concern in a dismissive way.

Scrooge was startled because the door knocker appeared to transform into the face of his deceased business partner, Jacob Marley, who was now a ghost. This supernatural occurrence set the stage for the visitation of the three spirits on Christmas Eve in "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.

Bobs physical appearance is never firmly described in the book. However, Dickens is alleged to have based the character of his own father who was also a clerk. He was medium height (about 5ft 5in) quite thin, narrow features and had a dark hair with sides of grey. He was clean shaven. Because of his lowly position and financial commitments Bob would have been wearing some very well worn cloths which would have much better days

The two wretched children in "A Christmas Carol" are Ignorance and Want. They represent the dark consequences of neglect and poverty, serving as a warning to Scrooge and readers about the importance of caring for others.

This refers to the Ghost of Christmas Present when Scrooge sees Tiny Tim for the first time and noting his clear health issues asks "and what of the little lad?" The ghost states "I see a vacant seat,'' replied the Ghost, `in the poor chimney-corner, and a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved. If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, the child will die.''

`No, no,'' said Scrooge. `Oh, no, kind Spirit! say he will be spared.''

`If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, none other of my race,'' returned the Ghost, `will find him here. What then? If he be like to die, he had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.''

The ghost is clearly stating that if events continue without changes then Tim will certainly die, should these change then there is a chance he will live. The ghost makes its clear to Scrooge that Scrooges own words will haunt him where Scrooge previously states when told many would rather die than go to the work house scrooges quotes is "best they do that and reduce the over population!".

Goofy portrays Jacob Marley in Mickey's Christmas Carol, he comes to tell Scrooge (Scrooge McDuck) that three spirits will visit him soon, Goofy has a ghost-like appearance and is in long chains.

The signposts in "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens are key events or moments that help guide the reader through the story's development. As far as I know and I am familiar with a number of adaptations including the funny Mr. Magoo take-off- Scrooge, evidentally too stingy for such things as taking girls out to lunch, does not have a female companion or girfriend, wife, etc in any of the versions I am famiiar with. The story is based on Scrooge"s dream and the three, make it four Ghostly characters he encounters, this is heavy problem-novel stuff and I can"r recall a love interest. The only woman in the story is Mrs.Cratchitt, the wife of Bob Cratchitt and the mother of ( not the recording star)- Tiny Tim! By the way Tiny Tim does not die in the story.
