Edward Peter Bertram Savile Foljambe, 5th Earl ofLiverpool (born 14 November 1944) Liverpool is the son of Captain Peter George William Savile Foljambe and Elizabeth Joan Flint. In 1969, at the age of 24, he succeeded his great-uncle as Earl of Liverpool and took his seat in the House of Lords. He was educated at Shrewsbury School. He is now one of the ninety elected hereditary peers who remain in the House of Lords after the House of Lords Act of 1999, and sits on the Conservative benches. Lord Liverpool married, firstly, Lady Juliana Mary Alice Noel, daughter of Anthony Gerard Edward Noel, 5th Earl of Gainsborough and Mary Stourton, on 29 January 1970. They were divorced in 1994. He married, secondly, Comtesse Marie-Ange de Pierredon, daughter of Géraud Michel de Pierredon, Comte de Pierredon, on 26 May 1995. William Henry Frederick Cavendish Bertram Marmaduke Osbert Savile Foljambe (son of 1st Earl of Liverpool & Suan Cavendish) b. 6 January 1891, d. 13 October 1955 Captain Peter George William Savile Foljambe (son of Bertram Marmaduke) b. 23 April 1919, d. 2 September 1944 Arthur William de Brito Savile Foljambe, 2nd Earl of Liverpool GCB GCMG GBE MVO PC (27 May 1870-15 May 1941), known as Viscount Hawkesbury from 1905 to 1907, was a British Liberal politician and the first Governor-General of New Zealand. Born at Compton Place, Eastbourne, Liverpool was the eldest son of Cecil Foljambe, 1st Earl of Liverpoolby his first wife Louisa Howard, daughter of Frederick John Howard. On his mother's side he descended from Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Burlington, the architect. Liverpoolsucceeded his father in the earldom in 1907 and took his seat in the House of Lordson the Liberal benches. In July 1909 he was appointed Comptroller of the Household in the Liberal administration of H.H. Asquith, a post he held until 1912. The latter year he was appointed Governor of New Zealand. In 1917 the office was raised in dignity to that of Governor-General of New Zealand. The same year Liverpoolwas also admitted to the Privy Council. He retired as Governor-General in 1920 and was appointed Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath (GCB) on 7 October 1920. Lord Liverpool married Hon. Annette Louise Monck, daughter of Henry Monck, 5th Viscount Monck, in 1897. They had no children. He died at his home Cranwick Hall near Lincolnin May 1941, aged 70, and was succeeded in his titles by his half-brother Gerald Foljambe.
