Athena (Minerva)

Athena renounced love and marriage. She never married. She is ever virgin as well. Athena (Minerva) and Artemis (Diana) were the two virgin goddesses.

She had no childhood. When she was born from Zeus' head, she emerged fully grown and clothed.

No, she did not. Athena was never a child. She sprang full-grown from the head of her father, Zeus.

Her half-brother was Mars or Ares (same person) *Total Athena Genius* (TAG)

She didn't have any kids. She was a virgin goddess.

Well, Athena has a spear and shield to protect herself in battle. (She is the goddess of wisdom, strategy, and the strategic side of war) But, she also has her brain. As I said, she is the goddess of wisdom and she could defeat with her power of mind. :)

Technically, Athena's parents were Zeus (the king of the gods) and Metis (Titaness of wisdom and knowledge). It was prophesized that Metis's offspring would be more powerful than Zeus, so he swallowed Metis. However, since Metis was already pregnant with Athena, this did little good. Metis gave birth to Athena inside of Zeus, and Athena stayed there until Zeus, complaining of headaches, had his head split open by Hephaestus. Out sprung Athena, fully armed.

In the standard Classical Greco-Roman version of the story, Athena was said to be born fully developed from (out of) the head of Zeus; however, this is their later re-write of the story, so to speak, done to suit their cosmological views. The goddess was worshiped in ancient Egypt long before the Greeks, where she was known as Neith. According to the Egyptians, she was related to the Titan Poseidon and his first born son Atlas via Poseidon's herold, Triton; originating out of the Lake Tritonis, a long extinct lake in Northwest Aftica. According to Plato's book Symposium, Athena's mother, Metis, had a son called Poros. Plato did not say who his father was, but if it was Zeus, which seems logical, then Poros is Athena's full brother. Legend has it that Temis' son would later usurp Zeus, just as Zeus had usurped his father, Cronos.
