Well if you say its expired, I highly recommend you throw it away. I'm not sure if its possible to mold. If it was just like 5 days ago when it went expired then its probably still usable.

NO! Distilled water is pure H2O and should be used for cleaning or to iron. It will dehydrate and cause your baby to be fussy unnecessarily. (I learned the hard way) It can even kill you if too much is consumed. Use purified or "nursery" water instead.
