You should not be able to, as your probation more than likely would show up on a background check, and to attempt to purchase a firearms, or being in possession of a firearm may be in direct violation of probation. Check with your probation officer, for it's better to ask and be told no than have the police show up at the gun shop while you're waiting for the background check to be completed. I've seen it, and it's not pretty.

Simply go to your local law enforcement agency and ask. Bring some form of valid ID, and be prepared to pay a small administrative fee. Within a few minutes they should be able to supply you with a printout of your criminal record, or a certification that no record was found.

For positions involving working with vulnerable groups, a background check will most certainly focus on issues relating to child abuse. Even if the role is not working with vulnerable groups, child abuse is a very serious crime and will put off most employers.

Basically everything. Previous addresses, work history, family, police record, d,v record, you name it. It is federal job, hence federal express (FedEx) . However they do make mistakes. Well, the agencies that do the background checs make mistakes, they accidentally put on my application that I had pending charges in all couties I ever lived im. I called all the counties to see if they had anything in their databases and they said nothing. They even confirmed that they snail mailed statements to fed-ex stating I am clear. Lol, sorry for the babble. I just hope you double check their check on you. It will mean getting or loosing your job.

Not really :} The background check typically insures that you ARE a resident of PA, that you have not been adjudged mentally incompetent, that you are not wanted for a crime NOW, that you have not been convicted of a felony or crime of domestic violence, and are not under a restraining order. Some states will also look at past convictions of such things as DUIs that are recent- they feel that has a bearing on your conduct in other matters.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Criminal history checks are run through NCIC and are not to be allowed outside law enforcement and must be for an active criminal investigation. You are not even allowed to run criminal histories and give them to your court, they have to run their own.

a code 2 decline means that the people who declined the check needs to update info on you, possibly new phone number, address change, etc.. It does not mean that you have written bad checks. I know it's a hassle but just call the number provided answer the question's and you should have no further problems giving check's.

They just try to hook you in hoping you will end up just paying for the report. If you want a full background check report on someone, you will have to pay for it.

The only accurate source of any of this information is not available to the public OR commercial sources. If you want to get a criminal history record on yourself, simply go to your local law enforcement agency and request one. You'll be asked to fill out a form - prove who you are - and (probably) pay a small administrative fee to cover the time and paperwork cost.

There is no standard level 3 background check but it will usually be more comprehensive that a level 1 or level 2 background check. The exact things that are checked in a level 3 background check are determined by the company.
