BB Guns

This information is the same for any scope.

1. Rest the rifle on a sand bag or other permanent stand.

2. Sight the scope on your target at 60 feet, the normal distance you plan to shoot.

3. Fire a test shot. Look through the scope and look where you were sighting verses where the pellet struck. DON'T MOVE THE RIFLE keep it sighted on the target.

4. Remove the scope caps on the scope adjustments knobs. Adjust the scope knob (on the right side) left. where as the cross-hairs are now aligned on the pellet hole. Now the scope is pointed at the new location.

5. realign the scope back on the target by moving the rifle. Now reload the rifle and fire another test shot. You should be closer or right on target.

Follow the same procedure until you are on target.

Remember you will never be on target with every shot. Cross-wind will always have an effect on the pellets path. If you are trying to do this with BB's, be advised BB's never fly as straight as pellets and the further the target is from the barrel he wider the BB pattern will be.

Theoretically, now that you have the scope sighted. for a particular distance, say 60 feet. remember that anytime you shoot at something closer than 25 feet your shot will be slightly below the target cross-hairs and anything further than 75 feet the shot will be slightly above the target cross-hairs.

The drozd is rated at 541 FPS. there is not much that you can do to improve it because it's a BB gun and the Co2 will only push the BB so fast. With a pellet gun you can select a lighter pellet to make it faster or a heaver pellet to make it hit harder. BB's all weigh about the same so you don't have much choice.

However you can put your BB's in a can and drop a few drops of Crosman pellgun oil in with them and roll them around in the oil to coat the BB's with oil. Also put a few drops of oil down the barrel this will make the BB's fire faster down the barrel. DO NOT SOAK the BB's it will gum up the gun with too much oil

Your question is about Pistol BB guns, so I am not going to include rifles or Pellet guns. I'm also not including Airsoft.

First of all there is no BEST BB gun but there are quite a few choices of excellent BB guns. I like BB guns that have a good solid feel. These are usually made of Metal or Polymer plastic. I don't like plastic BB guns. I also like BB guns that have Blowback when they fire. I own over 30 different BB & pellet guns so I have a good Idea of the feel and differences in the models.

One of my favorites is the Walter PPK/s. It's not that expensive but it has a great feel. It is an exact copy of the real Walter PPK that was made famous by James Bond as his personal handgun. It has Blowback and cost around $60. (See the link below)

There are other excellent BB guns available but there is something you might want to know. BB guns are not as accurate as pellet guns and are only accurate up to 15 to 20 feet. Pellet guns are usually more accurate over a long distance.

I usually tell people the best BB gun is the one you can afford.

I believe you are asking about a model 111 Western Carbine. Looks similar to a Red Ryder. They were made between 1963-78.

As for value I can not answer you because you did not give any description of the rifle's condition. You will have to rate it, something like Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition. Is it still working?

Daisy and Crosman made numerous BB and pellet guns for sears over the years. Without more information it is not possible to answer you.

In "Good condition" it would be worth between $20 - $25. It was made from 1963 to 1976

Daisy has a very confusing way of numbering their BB guns and rifles. Your rifle is either a (No. 101 - model 36) a (No.102 - model 36) or a ( No. 195 model 36). All of them have different values. So look again and see what number it is, and edit this question with that information so I can answer you.

The Red Ryder no 111 was made from 1939 to 1971. Then it became the 1938 model from then on to today. In other words it has been in continuous production from 1939 up to today. There have been right around 23 variations of the Red Ryder over the years.

There is a limit to how much or many C02 powerletts you can take on an aircraft. The gun must be unloaded and declared before flight.

Daisy has made 2 double barrel models. The model 21 in 1968 and the model 104 made between 1938-40. BOTH are very valuable. Unfortunately It's not possible to estimate the value because there is no description of the rifle given. Please state the condition of the rifle. Very Good, Good, Fair or Poor. Does it still work?
