Simply, you'd fall asleep. A dosage like that will make you tired enough to just pass out. It's safe (for a healthy person) to do that, but one 25mg pill will probably do just as much for you.

Benadryl®, or the generic diphenhydramine, is an antihistamine commonly used to treat allergy symptoms. It is also the primary ingredient in most over-the-counter sleep aids, because of its sedative side-effects.

If you've never taken diphenhydramine for sleep, chances are good that one will knock you out quickly. If you're still awake half-an-hour later, you can safely take a second dose, but no more.

Be aware that the sedative side-effects of diphenhydramine may last longer than expected, causing you to oversleep the next morning or feel groggy for several hours after waking.

I believe so. Ive always found that taking 2 doses of OTC sleep pills (100 mg dyphendydramine, aka benadryl) can keep me up at night. I wont be able to fall asleep and my mind races. However, it certainly would not make you alert during the day.

Most medications you cannot mix, ask your doctor for best answer dude :P me, I'm more of the answering how to get a buzz sorta thing xD but this can really mess your system up because benadryl as diphenahydramine in it, about 25mgs most prescription ones are anywhere from 25-50 at most because 75-100 can kill your liver, (if taken often) so its given only when having sever allergic attacks or bronchial issues due to allergies, but i really recommend asking a doctor not the Internet :P

In general, Rimadyl's side effects are less significant for most dogs as compared to the side effects of Prednisone -- but the biggest risk of problems comes from having both of these drugs in the dog's system at the same time. In general, when changing over from one to the other, we try to aim for a 48 hour "washout period", to allow one drug to clear before introducing the other. If you gave a dose of Rimadyl earlier today, I would not suggest using Prednisone for at least another day and a half, if we're trying to do what's safest.

Yes, benadryl will show up as benzos, if you take more then you should..I was drug tested and I never take anything and i failed, i told then only thing that i take is denadryl and the dr said that if was from taking too much benadryl..

(I am not a doctor) I have been taking 300mgs of Lamictal once a day for 10 years due to a seizure disorder and in that time I have taken Benadryl for seasonal allergies. I noticed no adverse effects. It may be only subjective, but it is possible that Lamictal could reduce the effectiveness of Benadryl, but I never noticed any other kind of contraindication.  But as with any drug you are unsure about, always consider what other medications you are currently prescribed.  

Promethazine (Brand Name: PHENERGAN) Diphenhydramine (Brand Name: BENADRYL) These medications can safely be taken in combination therapy together. Phenergan is widely used to treat nausea/vomiting and comes in an injectable, suppository and pill form and can only be obtained with a prescription. Benadryl, commonly used for allergies (itchy eyes, runny nose,sneezing) Benadryl can be bought over the counter for as needed use. Just follow your Doctors orders with Phenergan and the label directions with Benadryl.

Diphenhydramine (also known under the brand names of Benadryl in the US or Nytol in the UK) is a potentiator for codeine. This means the effects of codeine are increased if taken in combination with diphenhydramine. The chances of an overdose are therefore increased when taking diphenhydramine alongside codeine.

Coumadin (warfarin) can interact with many other medications. If taking both together, you should see your doctor and ask them directly for advice.
You can take benadryl while taking coumadin.

Usually Benadryl helps stop rashes/swelling that's what is mostly used for. But it may also make you very tired or very jittery.

I searched for our 5 lb. Chihuahua and found an average dose recommendation of 1/4 tsp of liquid Children's Benadryl (the one that says 12.5 mg on bottle)once in the morning and in the evening. This was recommended by an online vet. I will start out with only 1/8 tsp at first, though.

It is never wise to mix drugs and medications, and it can cause serious side effects or even death. Oxycodone is a major drug that should never be mixed with any other medications without a doctor's supervision and approval. This is something that should be discussed with your doctor because while maybe someone else is ok after mixing these two drugs, it may not be okay for you. Everyone's bodies are different and their systems function in a wide range of abilities between person to person. Oxycodone is already a depressant on the nervous system. Benedryl is also a depressant on the nervous system. Depressant times two on the nervous system is likely to cause some sort of a failure from something as small as making you sleepy to something as major as shutting down brain functions that can't recover, and resulting in a coma or death.

According to YAHOO ANSWERS - A dog 50lbs and up gets 50 mg. (they also have recommend amounts for smaller dogs and cats.

Another source said 1mg to every lb. ( so a 75lb dog could have 75 mg)

I have no idea, but I have 10 mosquito bites on one foot, including several on the bottom of my foot. They freaking itch and burn so bad that I cant stand it any longer. I already have diphenhydramine cream on them, and I'm getting ready to take diphenhydramine pills. For the love of god, I can't take this freaking burning itching for one more second!

As with all medications, always consult a doctor for this kind of advice. I do know benadryl is a very potentially dangerous over the counter drug, possibly the most dangerous of all. It is not even sold at all in some countries like Mexico. So go by doctor's advice only on this question. Let him know all the medications you are taking (as always).

This would depend on your allergic reaction and you individually. Benadryl is an anti-histamine. Some people with certain health conditions or who are on certain medications cannot have anti-histamine medicines. Also, if your tongue, lips, throat, or eyes swell up a lot or you are having trouble breathing- you should go to the emergency room. If none of the above apply- and you are having a mild episode of hives or a mild rash or if you have seasonal allergies, you should be fine.

Those are generally very safe drugs and can be taken together. They are both over-the-counter medicines in the us just stay below the max recommended dose both especially ibuprofen because long term use of ibuprofen can cause gastric ulcers also some people with asthma or heart failure have worsening of their asthma/heart failure when taking ibuprofen or other NSAID's also take ibuprofen with meals diphenhydramine - only side effect is that is makes most people sleepy, but its safe even up to 6 pills a day.

yes you can give your dog benadryl along with the antibiotics(clavamox) but only give baby benadryl starting with half of the regular dose indicated for babies. if you are not seeing any changes in your dogs behavior (seems a bit more sluggish than normal) wait until it is time for the next dose and give the full amount.
