the third brake light has 24x small bulbs that need to be replaced by soldering new ones to the circuit board. the outer tail lights you can get to by the cubby covers on each side. twist the bulb socket about 30* and pull out. the inner reverse lights can be taken care of by removing the tool kit and its trim. more difficult and will most likley break some clips in the process.

Your car is running rich, you may need to reset adaptation values. Sometimes you may need to replace O2 sensor, or cat, or your car is injecting too much gas.

the check engine light is for emmissions/exhaust only. the srs light will appear in any case of the seat belt or air bag system since the belts have pretensioners. i would have the BMW dealer to check it out for sure. there were some recalls on some seat belts which might include yours as well.

This is easier to locate than on most cars. The oil filter is located on top of the engine, so you don't have to go crawling around the backside of the engine. The oil filter has a plastic cap. It isn't one of those metal cased screw off/on type filters. The filter just looks like a big cone fuel filter and it is inside the filter cap. You have to unscrew the filter cap using either the correct tool purchased from BMW, or in my case, I use a rubber clamp wrench (a bigger version of the type you use to take lids off jars).
