Botswana's economy is very dependent on diamonds.
In 2009, when the world economy faced major problems, the sale of luxury items dropped. It placed Botswana in crisis, since they relied so heavily on this single luxury item for income. Due to this, and other economic factors, they are realizing they need to come up with other forms of income to keep national income stable.
They are working to build a bigger market in tourism, but this is being slightly hampered by the fact they are well known for having the second highest AIDS rate in the world. Another market they are building into is cattle and livestock.
No one.
The only person to ever be Prime Minister of Botswana was Seretse Khama, whom later became the first president of Botswana. The position of Prime Minister of Botswana was a short lived position from 1965 March 3 until Botswana's independence from the United Kingdom on 1966 September 30. At this time, they became a parliamentary republic and replaced the position with a president and vice-president.

And normally many people confuse Batlharo and Bakgalagadi,Batlharo don't follow under Bakgalagadi,Batlharo its a tribe by themselves, and many Batlharo stay in the southern part of Botswana n Northern Cape in South Africa.
Batlharo reside in Kgalagadi South and staying in Kgalagadi doesn't necessarily mean they are Bakgalagadi, they originate from South-Africa n settled there since its near their former homes being South Africa.
Although there are many tribes in Botswana, the above tribes dominate
they live normal like anybody else. If you have been to South Africa or seen South Africa on t.v you will understand because they are neighbours. the people there live better compared to countries like Zimbabwe. Botswana is actually one of the top developing countries in Southern Africa since that's where one of the world's most wanted gems is found(diamonds) rated one of the best in the world. Britain gets beef from Botswana because it provides more than any other country in Africa. nice place for a vacation specially in places like Maun and Kasane inclu. the Bushmen in Kgalagadi. It does not cost a lot to live in Bots, the people are nice and welcoming.
But if your asking how they lived back in the 1800 then it is way different. they lived a very hard life back then. There was a lot of work to be done in the house and out in the feilds. The men had to go out to the wheat feilds to grow wheat to provide for their families and the wqomen had to stay home and do the house work. Sort of like now but not.
You can review the list in the link, below, to identify geographically where the four diamond mines in Botswana are located.
