The 'old style'Elgar 20 Pound Note was officially withdrawn on 30 June 2010. The new notes depicting the Scotsman Adam Smith are now the only ones that are legal tender. The old style notes can be exchanged for the new ones free of charge from any UK bank.

"Island" is Icelandic for "Iceland" so "island krona" means "Iceland crown".

If the coin has a recent date it's only worth face value. At the end of 2008 the crown has been trading at less than one U.S. cent.

That is a far too extensive a question to answer here, and also depends on what your definition of "value" is. The coins of greatest value are all locked up in museums and the collections of the very wealthy.

A rule of thumb is that with a few exceptions, all British decimal coins other than Proof or Mint Uncirculated coins, have little or no value above face value.

The British did not produce Five Pence coins until 1968.

Britain has produced many different gold coins over many hundreds of years. The most common would be the Sovereign and the Half-Sovereign.

In more recent years there have been a lot of non-circulating gold coins minted.

There are many coins of gold appearance, but these are mostly made from a nickel brass alloy and are much more likely to be seen in circulation than genuine gold coins.

No British coin is magnetic. Coins made from steel can be attracted to a magnet.

From 1968 to 2011, the British 10 Pence coin was made from a copper-nickel alloy and therefore have no magnetic properties, copper and nickel both being non-ferrous metals.

From late 2011, the British 10 Pence coin is made from nickel plated steel which has some magnetic properties similar to the 1 Penny and 2 Pence coins issued from 1992.

The move towards coins made from steel is an effort by many countries to reduce the cost of manufacturing coins. Also, the coins are much more durable, even if the plating is not, and may extend the life expectancy of coins well beyond 50 years.

A Guinea.

The coin is a denomination of the old redundant predecimal British currency system and dates back to the time of Charles II.

It had something of a variable value initially, but settled down to the value of £1/1/0d or, One Pound Sterling and one Shilling or, 21 Shillings.

They were first minted in 1663 and last minted in 1813 when they were effectively replaced by the Sovereign (One Pound).

The coin was made from gold and was amongst the first machine produced English coins. The name came from the fact the gold used to manufacture them was mined in Guinea, West Africa.

During their time in the English currency, Guineas were produced in 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 1, 2 and 5 Guinea denominations.

The British decimal equivalent value of the Guinea is £1.05 (One Pound and five pence).

Some auction houses still use Guineas to price very valuable items such as racehorses, antique furniture and original "old master" paintings.

From a coin collectors perspective, a Guinea coin or its variants, depending on the year, condition and method of minting, could be worth anything from about a hundred to many thousands of Pounds GBP.

Please note that since the Guinea is part of a redundant or obsolete currency, it no longer has an "exchange rate" with other currencies.

1992 was the year the new smaller British 10 Pence coin was first issued, 1.413 billion of them.

Other than Uncirculated and Proof coin sets, there were no British 10 Pence coins minted from 1982 to 1991 inclusive.

The larger pre-1991 10 Pence coins were withdrawn from circulation and demonetised in 1993.

The larger pre-1998 50 Pence coins were withdrawn from circulation and demonetised in 1998. So, unless they are part of a Proof or Uncirculated mint set or are individual Proof or Uncirculated coins and in absolute mint condition, they have little or no value.
