The Bailiwick of Jersey currency (JEP) is pegged at par with the British Pound Sterling (GBP) and the Jersey decimal coinage is near identical in dimensions, composition and history to the equivalent British coins. Jersey currency is "legal tender" only in Jersey, but may be regarded as "acceptable tender" in Britain.

From 1947 onwards, all British general circulation silver coins were made from a copper nickel alloy. Since Victorian times, all British general circulation "old currency" Pennies were made from bronze.

There were 10,191,000 60th Anniversary of the end of World War 2 British Two Pound coins minted.

There were 5,140,500 400th Anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot British Two Pound coins minted.

A Bank of England Ten Shilling note (Series C - red/brown)(Chief Cashier J.Q. Hollom - serial R10), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch anything up to £7 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything up to £4 GBP.

The Master of the Mint was the highest position at the Royal Mint until about 1870 when the position was made redundant. His duties were to supervise the overall running and operations of the Mint.

The functions of the Master of the Mint have been taken over by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

One old shilling is the equivalent of a modern 5 pence (each being 1/20 of a pound). Shillings were still legal tender as 5 pence until the early 1990s. 12 times 5 is 60 pence.

The Latin phrase "Dei Gratia Regina Elizabeth" translates as Elizabeth, queen by the grace of God. This phrase (or an abbreviated version, D. G. Regina) appears on all the coinage of the British Commonwealth, therefore it does not identify a specific coin. I don't even know what country it is from, let alone what its denomination is. Furthermore, even if I knew exactly what coin you were talking about, the value varies tremendously depending upon the condition of the coin. Most coins from 1958 would have no value to a collector unless they were in extremely good condition.

9,304,009 1934 British sixpences were struck in 50% silver (only half silver) with 40% copper, 5% nickel and 5% zinc.. They are a relatively common George V coin. In mint state they can be worth around £25-£30. In the lower grades expect them to fetch between £2.50 and £15.00 (September 2010 prices). They weigh 2.8 grammes (silver scrap value is £12-a-Troy Ounce) - so scrap value would be around 50-60p.
