I can't tell you the value of your doll but I can tell you how to find out. Dolls are sold on a secondary market for people who collect them. Books are printed annually listing the values of dolls and other collectibles. Cabbage Patch, the last time I looked, had its own book. Look in the book find the name of your doll and it will give you a market value at the time of printing. This price can be higher or lower today. The value of your doll is also determined by condition, if the birth papers are with it, and if there is an original box that the doll came in. With these things the price of your doll can increase. Check EBay for base price values as well this will tell you how the market is moving now.

The cabbage patch kids were made in the year 1983. They were actually sold during 1985. Xavier Roberts invented them. He was a designer, born in Clevlend Georgia in 1955. He made each doll with their own identity. They each had an adoption certificate and could be named. He wanted to show little kids that each and every person is unique, different. They would come wanting to find a home and to be loved. Simple things can teach us a lot!

It depends. Is it in a box? othrwise probably not much. These dolls on eBay gor for between 3 and 20 dollars depending on completeness of the outfit, cleanliness and the paper work is not as important because colectors often buy birthcertificate lots.....and use those instead. good luck!

If you own any of the soft-head CPK dolls made by Xavier Roberts, those dolls are very much in demand (especially the ones made in the early 80's) and I have seen them fetch for over $500. If your daughter owns the ones made by Coleco or Mattel, they do not fetch as much (maybe $30 if it is a rare configured doll with the box).

They are called Cabbage Patch because when he was a child, he was told by his parents that he came from a cabbage patch so he used that name for his dolls. A 1975 Cabbage Patch Kid does not exist.

The Cabbage Patch Kids were originally called Little People and were completely handmade, unlike the Cabbage Patch Kids we know today, which are mass produced with vinyl heads. Although Xavier Roberts, the creator of this iconic brand, may have dabbled in soft sculpture in 1975, these are his own private creations. He has identified a few unmarked Little People from 1976 and 1977 as his own, but the first labeled and "adopted" Little People are from 1977/1978. The brand was not renamed Cabbage Patch Kids until 1982.
