Dhoti kurta is the traditional Indian clothing of men. Unlike other dresses, it is an unstitched piece of cloth usually 5 yards long that is tied around the waist and legs. Why is the caste system still practiced in India today?
Unfortunately, it still does exist in India, but most of it is concentrated in rural areas void of access even to electricity. In cities, people treat each other completely as equals but inter-caste marriage can still cause tensions between families. All in all, it is similar to racism: Racism still exists in rural places as Alabama, Mississippi in the US and inter-racial dating is still not as accepted today. And there are always exceptions, say cities like Chicago that are race-segregated. But all-in-all, America still got a Black president!
