i wasnt a lovey showy person until i was with my boyf who likes to show this a lot(emotionless most of the time, over affectionate the rest), i found that i WAS a lovey person and only changed because its who i was underneath.
its also possible you have issues which make you clingy without your actually being lovey which is a different thing, it means some problem could have made you this way and you cant get over it properly, and maybe you need some counseling to stabalize your emotional problems.
