the league talked to Mussolini, whilst he was sending troops into abyssinia. The league didn't want to loose Italy from the league of nations and decided to give part of abyssinia to Italy. However Mussolini wanted all of abyssinia to expand his empire, so instead he ignored the league and invaded abyssinia.

Then the league banned weapons sales and put sanctions on rubber and metal.

The abyssinian emperor Haile Selassie appealed to the league but the league did nothing, in fact they secretly agreed to give abyssinia to Italy. This was called the Hoare Laval pact.

America always had some migrant workers. Still, the 1930s produced more than usual. In the 1920s, gasoline powered farm tractors came into use. Suddenly, American farms needed a lot few workers most of the year. On the other hand since the people thrown out of work became migrant labor, farming could extend farther south and west. People farmed land in South Florida with winter vegetables. Migrant laborers picked them and when they were picked moved up the state, ending the year in Maine. By the 1920s tractors enabled people to farm former grazing land in Arizona, New Mexico, West Texas, Colorado, West Oklahoma, West Kansas, West Nebraska, Wyoming, and a few other places. A number of people raised on farms to the east took advantage of the situation and moved west to the new land. In the 1930s a big drought hit from Arizona to Texas and north to Wyoming. It blew away the topsoil on many farms driving many farms out of business. Many banks holding mortgages on those farms also failed. The area was called the dust bowl. Washington D.C. looked like Beijing does today. The people were out of work and hungry. They packed what belongings they could put in their cars and left. Some went to California. Others went east. Meanwhile, congress raised tariffs, and raised tariffs, and raised tariffs. Foreign countries retaliated. Exports ended. Companies depending on exports went out of business. Their employees were laid off. Meanwhile the stock market crashed. Many New Yorkers who had worked in the finance business were out of work. With all the people out of work, many factories closed. Those people were out of work. With so many people out of work. Many people joined the migrants picking crops.

Where the clothes in the 1930's colorful? Yes! Most of the colors in clothes started in the 1920's. Colors have always been in clothes. Colorful clothes have been around since the Bible days, but they always were expensive and represented royalty. Until, the 1920's when colorful clothes became the normal thing. the 1920's not only introduced almost every color in clothing but also pattern and texture. things like plaid, stripes, checkers, florals. ect. and so many different fabrics- cotton, silk,satin, wool ect.

Because of the Great Depression, many people migrated to New York in search of work, but more often to California which was known as the 'sunshine state'. People hoped this would bring them jobs and happiness. These Itinerant workers were more often than not Mexican.
