Why is your butt burning from diarrhea?

Well, you asked for it. As food makes its way through the GI tract, the body secretes various enzymes and acids that help to break down the food into smaller and smaller bits so that the food can be absorbed in the intestines. By the time that the food gets to the small intestines, it is a soupy fluid that is chock full of enzymes. As the food travels through the intestinal tract, many things happen...the fluid and food particles are absorbed, the enzymes start to degrade, and what is left starts to firm up and form what we in the health care field call poop. Most of this process occurs in the large intestine and it usually takes between 12 and 24 hours for that Big Mac to complete the whole process of digestion from start to finish. When a person has diarrhea, the motility of the intestines is increased, meaning that the contents of the intestine are moved more quickly through the intestines. This means that the liquid poop in the small intestine with all the enzymes that are meant to digest the food that has been eaten is passed throught the intestines and out the rectum before the enzymes have had a chance to degrade. This is why diarrhea is liquid and the burning sensation is a result of the active enzymes acting on the sensitive tissue of the anus

Is diarrhea a sign of pregnancy or miscarriage?

Answer

no

---

I think it possibly could be a sign. My baby stopped growing 6w2d and my diarrhea started that day, but I did not miscarry for 3 weeks. Once the baby stopped growing, I had diarrhea for 7 days straight - and that never happens to me.

Now I am pregnant again & I hit 6w2d yesterday and my diarrhea started again. The doctors feel my baby will not make it based on my 6w1d ultrasound, so this diarrhea could be a sign in my 2nd miscarriage.

Can tums make your diarrhea worst?

No. Your best bet is to stay away from dairy until a few days after you start to feel better, then do a small test and wait and see how it took. Then slowly build it back in. Your best bet is to stick to the B.A.R.T. system (bananas, apples, rice, and toast). No other fruits, they contain too much sugar. Drink plenty of fluids and take probiotics. You can buy them at any natural foods store such as Henry's or any other local place. This will help balance the natural (good) flora in your intestinal tract and speed up your recovery.

If you get diarrhea often you should consider that your poor diet (fried foods and lack of fiber in the form of fruit or vegetables) or a gluten intolerance (Celiac disease) are to blame. ake care of yourself. You can reverse most disease before damage to your body is too great.

When you worry about things you get diarrhea why?

Yes, you can. You can also get it from being nervous or highly upset about something. Witch this means it's not something you ate, it's mantal. And if you're so scared or stressed about something that it's giving you diarrhea, the best way to over come this is to just go do it. But if it's a job, I would say just try to have fun in it. Or take up a relaxing hobbie.

Hope this helps!

Why do some allegens produce runny nose while others produce diarrhea?

Do you mean allergens or pathogens. The two are not synonomous. Allergens are things that a person or life form reacts to in a negative manner. Antihistamines often work well to alleviate these symptoms but if they do not then a visit to a physician is in order and he can treat the symptoms using steroids or prescription strength antihistamines or other meds for more severe cases. Pathogens can cause illness in people and make them sick like as in getting the flu which can result in everything from runny nose, cough, fever, diarrhea etc. The common cold is also caused by pathogens but different in type and severity. A common cold ends faster than the flu (typically) and may present with a mild fever but usually does not. The common cold will have the patient coughing, sneezing perhaps and runny nose. However there are no allergens in the air that produce diarrhea. Now a food allergy may produce diarrhea in a patient for items like dairy allergies etc. but food allergies are not caused by what is referred to as alleregens because the majority of the population can ingest without any allergy. Allergens are items like airborn that will have an impact on more people than not.
