Ditloids and Letter Equations
A ditloid is a word game consisting of abbreviations and letters. To solve the puzzle, the letters have to be figured out through creativity and logic to discover the common phrase or sentence. Examples are 4 Q in a G (Four Quarts in a Gallon) and 1 W on a U (One Wheel on a Unicycle). Letter equations, sometimes referred to as language or linguistic equations, are riddles involving common expressions containing numbers and words. The first letter of each word replaces the word itself leaving the reader with a puzzle to figure out.
