A dragonfly is an insect. Only mammals have backbones. Dragonflies are not mammals.
That your life will be magical from that moment on... With manifestations and in perfect synchonization at God's will...
flies survive by eating different types of food
eg. nectar from flowers, germ infested food from rubbish bins
:)
I'm not sure....I saw today a big wide dragonfly eating up a tiny thinner one (or so it looked as the wing of the victim was almost coming off and its face being devoured, plus its body was half eaten up.) At first I thought they were making love (as you can see I am no dragonfly expert!!) but upon closer looking I saw the strange movements of the mouth of the bigger one, as if it were swallowing something. also, it was caring the body of the other one and as I said before, the wing looked as if it were about to come off; it was turning in weird directions and hanging loosely to the body of the other one.
I don't know why they do this, but perhaps it could be because they were two males (although the one who ate the other one was MUCH much bigger than him) or perhaps just enjoy the taste of dragonfly?
All insects, including butterflies, are cold blooded.
About 6,000 feet high. They can keep flying up until the temperature is at 50° F or higher.
Dragonflies are very curious and may fly close to people as well as other animals just to get a good look at them.
I find them very friendly sometimes if one is near you, you can hold out your arm and it may come land on you and don't worry they are harmless
A dragonfly does not really have prey. They eat mostly vegetation so they will sit on a leaf or branch and eat what they need. They also eat a lot on fruits.
That's their habitat.
In the dragon fly life cycle the eggs are laid in water and the larva stage lives in water. So dragon flies live around water.
No. Water dragons are diurnal, meaning that they are only active during the day.
Some people say its the dragonfly, some say the humming bird and some say the eagle.
The truth is, not many people know this but dragons are actually very common in the highland region of North Umbria. To buy a dragon from there, you need to find the man with a purple umbrella, sitting at the end of a wharf in the harbour on the north east side 56 degrees. There, you shall find him. Say this 'Wibble dongle." And he shall reply "Toot toot."
In response, you must say "Take me."
He will say no but take you anyway.
Hope this helps.
Yours Sincerly
Peter Dragon.
You can buy stuffed animal dragons at a store, you cannot buy other, real dragons.
Immature dragonflies live in freshwater. They are most abundant an diverse in slow-moving freshwater that has no fish (small streams and ponds) but can be found in many shallow freshwater habitats. Adult dragonflies often stay near water, but sometimes travel away from water while hunting or on migration. They are fast fliers, so they tend to hunt in open areas, not in thick trees or other vegetation.
Mayfly Nymphs live under stones in fast-flowing water or among plants in slow streams. Some species live in small burrows at the bottom of the stream. Some are flat and cling to the bottom of rocks in fast-flowing streams. They are mostly found in cool, more permanent water bodies like streams and lakes.
According to mythology, a dragonfly landing on your left ring finger signifies that marriage may be close. It also can mean a long and happy life.
Yes because some butterfly's wings can be very sencitive. Espesially when they first come out of the cacoon.
The name of baby dragonfly is Nymphs. Before Nymphs they are called Larva.
You can't really, they are water bugs when the come out from the water they become a dragonfly. Dragonflies only live for 24 hours, so, if you see a dragonfly dying, don't do anything, it is supposed to happen.
