Can you prevent Ebola?

EDIT: While there is no physiological agents that can prevent Ebola only physical barriers can stop proliferation, if someone is infected or thought to be infected there is a rather not well documented "vaccine" of sorts that can be administered within 48 hours. As I said its effectiveness is not well known.

What is the lethal airborne dose of an Ebola virus?

There is NO "no effect dose" dose or "lethal effect" dose for viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms, because they make you ill by multiplying at first in number ('growth')

How can Ebola be passed on to other people?

The Ebola virus is typically spread through contact with the body fluids of an infected person. It can also be spread through skin contact but with much lower frequency. There is little evidence of airborne transmission.

What is Ebola's favorite protein food?

When did Ebola start?

Ebola was first discovered in 1976. It was discovered in the Congo area near the Ebola River, where it got its name.

Fruit bats and other primates as well as humans can get Ebola. But there is no epizootic cycle for humans. That means that it can be spread from human to human without any carrier (animal).

Are humans a natural reservoir for Ebola?

Yes, humans are considered a natural reservoir for Ebola. This is because so many of them have contracted this deadly virus.

What are Ebola pathogenic properties?

The Ebola virus only passes through bodily fluids. Those also include blood, sweat, breast milk, mucus, vomit, feces, urine, semen, vaginal fluids, and saliva.
The first signs -- fever, muscle ache, headache, and a sore throat -- can look like malaria, typhoid fever, and even the flu. Later symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding inside the body and from the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth.

Is there a vaccine for Ebola virus?

At time of writing (2014), there is no known or proven method of curing the Ebola virus once you are infected.

Depending on the particular stain of the virus, the death rate can be as high as 9 out of 10 infections.

People who survive infection do so because their bodies are strong and are able to put up some form of resistance to the the infection.

Normally from time of infection it takes 10 to 14 days to present symptoms, thereafter, if you are unlucky it will probably kill you within three days.

Please see the comments below, they were posted as well, although cannot be verified:

As of now there may be a cure. I heard on the Canadian radio show, "As It Happens", that scientists there successfully used an experimental vaccine to save a young woman.

There was a 21-day incubation period, but she pulled through. I'd also heard that Hyperbaric (high-pressure) oxygen stops "flesh-eating" or unusual diseases, because they are anaerobic (flourish when no oxygen is present.)

[The second part is partly true, however, most Ebola cases are in distant and sometimes very inaccessible rural areas, here it would be difficult to even find electricity, let alone a Hyperbaric chamber]

CAN THE EBOLA LIVE OUSIDE THE PATIENT AND HOW LONG?

Yes it can. Ebola lives in the patient until it kills its host. It takes about 1-2 weeks until the process is finshed, then your dead.

Is Ebola in the US right know?

Can Ebola virus survive sub zero temperatures?

It is nonliving like all viruses and are not effected by sub zero temperatures.

Is Ebola a man-made virus?

There is ample evidence that ebola is a naturally-occurring virus. There are many animals with antibodies to ebola and similar viruses. It is human nature to look for a conspiracy to explain such a natural force, but there is no science behind the belief that ebola is man-made.
