Why are the six pillar of imam important?

Answer:

They are called the "six articles of faith", not to be confused with the "five pillars" of practice.

A person who does not believe in all six articles of faith is not complete in his belief. In fact, negation of any one single article of faith, removes one from being a believer.

1) There is no deity but God, Alone. He has no partners, no equals.

Neither Jesus, nor anyone else who has ever walked on Earth is God. Jesus was a Servant of God. If he is called a "son" of God, then it is meant ONLY in the meaning given in the Hebrew language: 'true, good servant'.

2) God's Angels.

That God created the Angels for whatever reason and purpose He had. They have no power within themselves - they only do what they are commaded. Though God does not need anyone in order to carry out His Will, yet He willed to create them, and use them for different purposes. Some angels are recording - your life. The Angel Gabriel is the Messenger to the Prophets (and is, in factwhat the Bible is talking about when it refers to the "Holy Spirit", believe it or not. Some angels come to serve the people of Heaven; other angels are assigned the task of severely punishing those in Hell. The Angels of God do not hesitate, for a moment, to carry out His Will.

3) God's Prophets and Messengers.

The first person to communicate with God - and deliver the message to people - was Adam. Adam was the first Prophet of God. Then there were many, many prophets - sent to every nation on Earth. After Abraham, however, the only Prophets and Messengers came from his descendants.

A 'prophet' is one who is guided by God - and leads the people. A 'messenger' is a prophet who also is given a scripture. The Messengers that are mentioned in the Qur'an (though there were more) are: Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad. Each was given a Book.

4) God's Books.

We believe that God did truly reveal certain books; but that each of these books are not in their original forms - with some forgery and mistakes in them - except the Final Book - the Qur'an. The books of God that are mentioned are: The Scrolls of Abraham, The Torah of Moses, The Psalms of David, The Gospel (injeel, eveangel, in Arabic) of Jesus, and the Qur'an.

5) Heaven and Hell.

We believe in Heaven and Hell as physical realities. On the Day of Judgment, people will be assigned either to Heaven, or to Hell. All who enter Heaven remain there. But many people enter Hell for a period of time only. Ultimately, God will remove from Hell every person who had a small seed of true faith in the ONENESS OF GOD. This is important. Anyone who worships more than one god - or makes someone into a partner to God - will NOT leave Hell. Ever.

6) The "Qadr" determination of God, and free will.

We believe that Mankind is given free will; but that his or her free will is confined to that which God has determined for his or her life. In other words, a person has a choice whether to believe in and obey the ONE GOD, or not. Then, God tests each and evry one by what He has already written for them. So God determines who you are, where and when you are born, when you will die, how much wealth you will have, and what events occur in your life (whether good or bad). Your free will (and hence, your being held responsible on the Day of Judgment) is what you DO, with what God has written for you.

Finally; these articles of faith are simply the very samerticles of faith that EVERY Prophet taught. They are the only valid beliefs of not only the Qur'an, but the Bible as well.

How do Allahs predestination and decree effect your everyday life?

Answer:

The subject of Al Qadhaa wa Al Qadr is THE only real "mystery"

in Islam. That is because it is a "mystery" to everyone. Pre-destiny vs Free-will.

Most things in our lives Allah has pre-determined. Example: when we are born, when we die, the time we live in, the culture we come from, the parents we come from, our genetics . . . need I continue?

But then , we are told, God had given us free-will. And yet again, we are told that God already knows what you - of your free-will will do; and so He has prepared the result - already.

That is and will always be a mystery to Mankind. That is because Allah is unfathomable. Just as Elohim is, to the Jews (it's the same God), Allah CANNOT be understood. We need to understand that.

And then again, we are told in a famous Hadith (saying) of Muhammad (peace be upon him): Laa Yarudd Al Qadr, Illa Ad-Duaa'. "Nothing turns pre-destination away, except prayers".

This complicates things more, it seems; however, the understanding of it is thus: Allah determines something will happen to His servant (you); but the servant is busy praying that it not happen (or whatever). So Allah removes that which He had written, and replaces it with something else He had written.

Allah already KNOWS that you would be making this prayer, so He set up another Qadr - to replace the one He had determined before.

NOW . . . WHY does God do all that gymnastics?

FOR A PURPOSE. If not for anything else, we know that Allah shows His servants what COULD have been in their lives had they been dfferent. Had the evil been good, He will show them what He had determined for them (because they really were free to choose). Had the good been evil (and not made those prayers) then Allah can show them what their lives would have been like, as well.

Glory be to God - who said that He would show us the truth of all that we did - on the Day of Judgment.

How was Islam introduced to America?

American Muslim men and women are as diverse as the world. Their original ancestries represent multitudes of countries and regions and contrary to common assumptions they are not monolithic representatives of one reality. Despite their small numbers (5-7 million) their presence in this country pre-dates the American Revolution and Christopher Columbus (2). Since the 1500′s Muslims traveled and explored North America. Christopher Columbus sailed to the Americas with two ship captains and their younger brother who were related to Abuzayan Muhammad III, the Moroccan Sultan (1196-1465) (3). In 1572 fleeing the Spanish Inquisition Muslim Estevancio of Azamor (meaning North African Azamiri) was the first to explore Arizona and New Mexico (4).

Every war America fought, American Muslims played a role. During the American Revolution Peter Saleem (Salem), Yusuf bin Ali, Bampett Muhammad, Saleem (Salem) Poor among others- fought and died with American revolutionaries. Poor fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Colonel Frye's Regiment. Colonel William Prescott and 14 officers petitioned the legislatures of Massachusetts to reward officer Poor for his bravery, distinguished accomplishments and exceptional character. Peter Saleem also fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill and was lauded for his valor. He received his honors in the presence of George Washington. Both Saleem and Poor (5) are commemorated on U.S. postage stamps.

Many of the early African Americans who by force or abduction were enslaved to build American colonies were Muslim (6). Muhammad Bilal in his early teens was abducted from his well educated Muslim family in Sierra Leone (7). Bilal along with 80 Muslims under his command fought the British in the war of 1812 successfully defending Sapelo Island for the Americans. Bilal authored the first American Muslim Arabic manuscript titled "Rissala" or "message" that explored his faith, beliefs and prayers (8). Also in 1832 Omar Said's hand written accounts of his abduction and enslavement in South and North Carolina were written in Arabic- he was a Muslim.

The Founding Fathers thoughtfully considered the relationship of Islam to the new nation. They willingly included provisions to protect Muslims. In Jefferson's autobiography, he recounts the passage of his landmark Bill for "Establishing Religious Freedom" and wrote with satisfaction of Virginia legislature's rational rejection to limit the bill's scope by including protections for "Mohamaten" (Muslims) (9). Jefferson often stated his despise of narrow-mindedness declaring "Bigotry is the disease of ignorance."

When did Muhammad receive his later revelations?

Answer:

Muhammad received revelations from time to time, in bits and pieces, over the course of twenty three years. Sometimes whole chapters would be revealed (as in the chapter called Joseph) which were long. Most times it would be shorter parts revealed in response to something happening around the Muslims. In the earlier years they were short, full chapters, that were revealed. Those can be found in the last maybe 80 or so chapters of what is the Qur'an.

How does islam affect muslims lives?

Answer:

Islam IS our life. All of it.

God revealed the Torah to Moses to give to the Children of Israel - as a complete way of life. "Torah" means "Law". It is the Law of God for the living of life - every aspect of life.

So when Jesus came to the Jews, he told them that, since Israel was no longer establishing the Law of God, that God was going to give His Law to "a new nation, that will give to God what is His due".

So after some time, God sent Muhammad as the bringer of God's Final Law - for all Mankind. Muhammad is the Messenger of the Covenant, who brought what Jesus said was soon to come - The Kingdom of God on Earth.

The Qur'an is much like the Torah - only universal in application, and easier to follow. Islam is a complete law, a complete way of life. As such, God has given His rules for Humanity. How to be born and die, what to eat and not eat, how to dress, marry, divorce. Even economics and, yes, warfare, are regulated by God's Law.

It is our way of life. It has guidance and direction even for how to use the bathroom and clean one's self. Everything is covered in the Law of God.

When Jesus returns, he will establish that Final Law - over the whole world.
