Will your scanner work when police change to 800megahertz?

That depends entirely on your scanner. Many cover the 800MHz band, but some don't. Also, if they're moving to that band, chances are that your local agencies are upgrading to a trunking system - something that may or may not be compatible with your scanner. How do you program a uniden bearcat SC 150 scanner?

1. If you are, stop scanning by pressing Manual.

2. Switch to the channel you want to program, either by entering it on the keypad and then pressing Manual or by continually hitting Manual until you are on it.

3. Enter the frequency, including the decimal point, on the keypad using three decimals. "456.789" for instance. the decimal point will show up as a dash in the preview window.

4. Press E

5. Done.

To assure yourself it worked, you can go to the channel (or be on it) as per 2. and then hit review. It will flash the channel number and then the frequency it is programmed for one digit at a time.
