Or poured the liquid inside directly into your eye, but they make those things pretty non-toxic these days, so I really don't know about about that (but I'd advise against it, just to be safe.)

Or maybe if you caused yourself eyestrain trying to read War & Peace using only a glow-stick.

Other than that, no, they're fine. Here's the rule: All NON-COHERENT (that is, laser) visible light (light you can see) is non-harmful unless it is too bright/intense (so don't look at the sun, or put your face into a 20K stage light, etc.)

a black light thin it will glow.
