Why is greenpeace not happy with japan?
Green Peace claims many reasons, but most are founded in Japan's alleged overfishing of the world's oceans and lack of concern for the environment. Japan continues large-scale whaling operations, and doesn't observe international mandates on endangered species. Giant tuna are disappearing from the oceans, along with sharks (which are necessary to the ocean's and world's ecosystems), swordfish and a host of other threatened oceanic species. Many people attribute this to Japan's appetite for rare and exotic seafoods.
To a lot of people who care about the earth, lacking respect for our oceans and its inhabitants is abhorrent. They believe Japan is the biggest offender. Green Peace has great concerns that many of these wonderful species will be forever lost, affecting the balance of life on earth. So, they try to convince Japan to climb on board with the international community regarding a sustainable planet.
Sadly, the situation is a result of clashing cultural values and refusal to compromise.
