Grizzly Bears

Grizzly Bears can be found from Alaska, south through much of western Canada, and into portions of the northwestern United States including Idaho, Montana, Washington and Wyoming, extending as far south as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, but is most commonly found in Canada, and in zoos. There may still be a small population in Colorado in the southern San Juan Mountains. In September 2007 a hunter produced evidence of grizzly rehabilitation in the Selway-Bitterroot ecosystem by killing a male grizzly. The Grizzly originally also lived in much of the Great Plains and the southwestern states, but no more.

At one time, they were considered different species. Currently they are lumped into one species, brown bear (Ursus arctos). The grizzly was Ursus horibilus, now it's a type of brown bear (Ursus arctos horribilus) but of course, if you read older books it will still be split.

One part of the bear that helps it survive is its thick skin underneath. bears skin is like a rubbery substance of fat. for polar bears they gain blubber from seals and other species of their prey. black bears for instant have thick fur so do other bears as well. it helps them keep in their heat, protect them from other animals , and helps prevent them from being stung by bees when there trying to get some honey.

A lot of people will say lion , however they are wrong because they are just stupid lion fans that know nothing about a tiger's advantages. Because of size, the bear would win. The bear also has claws and a better bite for killing than the gorilla. This would cause the grizzly to be able to hurt the gorilla better. If the gorilla was the same size as the grizzly, it would be a different matter. The gorilla would certainly be stronger in that case.

No grizzly bears have been spotted in Oregon since the late 1930's. The last one was killed in Wallowa County. Grizzly bears only live in zoos in Oregon these days

Polar bears have nice thick fur to adapt to the cold weather witch is a pro. A con is that they eat blubber off seals and often can't find blubber. Another pro is that they can go into the water and catch fish.

Some local populations are endangered, but since this bear is only a subspecies of the brown bear, as a species it is not endangered.

It's never good to remove an apex predator from an environment. Bears have their place, like removing the sick and weak animals from the population, so they won't breed and maybe pass on the sickly genes to their offspring.

The larges grizzlies are the Kodiak Bears which can weigh up to 450 kg; they stand up to 1.2 metres high at the shoulder when on all fours, and over 2.4 metres high when reared on their hind legs.

it lives in the forest Grizzly bears live more inland, as opposed to the brown bears that live along coastal areas. The difference between the two being location, which affects diet which affects the bears size and temper. Brown Bears are larger that Grizzlys because they have a better diet.
